Life is hard…..some days more than others

Have you taken time to sit back and reflect on how your life is going? How many heartaches, headaches, stress, problems and obstacles you’ve had to overcome just to get to where you are today? Do you know that every tiny experience you’ve had your entire life has shaped you into the person you are today? No? well, you’re here now so let us take a few minutes to do this. Ready? Take the next 2 minutes (or longer if needed) to reflect back on your past and present. Get comfortable, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and relax. Remember to come back here to continue reading. If you fall asleep that’s okay too! You deserve the rest with all this life going on.

You didn’t do it did you. Come’on… you can spare 2 minutes to reflect on your life; can’t you?

ZZzzzzz…. 2 minutes goes by…… Oops, sorry. Fell asleep there for a moment or three. *stretches* Alright, now what does this have to do with anything? Why did you do what was asked? Did you notice anything? Did you remember only the fun times? the exciting times? some sad or terrible times? A combination of all emotions? All of this has made YOU. No one else has had the same experiences as you so no one can be exactly like you. Not even your twin.

What does this have to do with yarn and other fiber-y goodness? It doesn’t. What does it have to do with? Your every day struggle to get as much done as possible in a day. Every day. Everyone deserves to have a work-life balance to keep stress levels down, happiness elevated and live healthier lives. You’re responsible for how happy you are each day. How happy do you want to be?

One way to create happiness is to do something that you *want* to do. Something that brings joy to your mood and gives you a sense of accomplishment. You’ll feel better which then increases happiness and reduces stress levels. Do you have hobbies? Hobbies are things you want to do which will bring happiness into your life.

Still with me? GREAT! One hobby that is good for everyone, young to older, males and females… it is very relaxing, keeps your mind off of stressful things and what you accomplish you can admire, keep, give away, sell.. the skies the limit…. working with yarn and/or other fiber-y goodness. Knitting, crochet, weaving, macrame, needlework, felting.. oh the list can go on and on. How can you keep your mind on stressful things when you’re too busy with your hobbies? You can’t! The happier you are…the more opportunities the Universe will be sending your way. Can learning a new hobby be stressful? Absolutely! Practice makes perfect (or at least a better project) and you’ll be past those stressful beginnings in no time!

These hobbies don’t cost too much to start, when you’re learning, and once you feel comfortable with the hobby you’ll want to do more and more. Any hobby can ultimately be expensive. That’s up to you to decide.

Find a hobby. Any hobby and have a life you love!
